# :rocket: Release 1.12.0 (2024-07-22) ## :notepad_spiral: NOTES StackGres 1.12.0 has made it! :space_invader: :sparkles: :confetti_ball: :champagne: This release comes with a new shiny feature that allows to do change data capture (CDC) of your Postgres instances in an easy way with SGStream CRD! CDC provides real-time or near-real-time movement of data by moving and processing data continuously as new database events occur. In particular SGStream offer two main functionality: streaming Postgres CDC events to a CloudEvent service or moving data to another SGCluster instance. The feature is in an alpha stage so your feedback will be a great way to make it more stable. This release also brings fixes and security features. In particular Envoy has been updated to 1.30.4 solving a bug that was haunting us for some time preventing the new version to be included. Sadly we can not upgrade to latest version of PgBouncer due to a [regression found in version 1.23.0](https://github.com/pgbouncer/pgbouncer/issues/1103), we hope to be able to include a newer version as soon as it is released. To upgrade StackGres operator's (upgrade only works starting from 1.1 version or above) helm chart issue the following commands (replace namespace and release name if you used something different): `helm upgrade -n "stackgres" "stackgres-operator" https://stackgres.io/downloads/stackgres-k8s/stackgres/1.12.0/helm/stackgres-operator.tgz` > IMPORTANT: This release is incompatible with previous `alpha` or `beta` versions. Upgrading from those versions will require uninstalling completely StackGres including all clusters and StackGres CRDs (those in `stackgres.io` group) first.
